John Shepherd
My name is John Shepherd, a faculty member of both Corpus Christi College and Kwantlen Polytechnic University. I have taught business courses for the past 20 years, starting at Northwest Community College and later at the College of New Caledonia.
My pieces of dust wallpaper include a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science (Strategic Focus) degree. Other pieces of paper include CPA (Chartered Public Accountant) and FCSI (Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute) designations, and a Bachelor of Science degree.
My experience includes work as a management consultant, in small business lending, and in community economic development. My hobbies include travel, photography, hiking, photography, and community service in the not-for-profit sector. I have served on the boards of the Prince Rupert Airport Authority, Prince George Public Library, Surrey Libraries, and Northwest Community College. I am a past president of a Rotary Club.
Working with community groups, I have been involved in dozens of community projects. Often, I have helped community groups obtain funding from different government programs, several million dollars worth over the years. One of my Rotary Club’s projects was the installation of a community library in the indigenous community of Ditidaht on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
A researcher and writer, my publication track record includes three articles published in academic journals, three business case studies, and a variety of other published manuscripts.
Eleven years ago, I tied the knot with Connie, a delightful woman I met in a Chapters bookstore.
