Bruce Marchfelder
Mr. Marchfelder is an award-winning producer, writer, director and cinematographer. His work has premiered in competition at the Cannes, Toronto, Whistler, Vancouver and Berlin film festivals. In addition to his feature films and documentaries, his commercial work has won numerous industry awards. His clients include the BBC, CBC, the Coastal First Nations, Ducks Unlimited, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Humboldt Forum Berlin, Smithsonian Magazine, UBC, Telus, TRIUMF lab, MITACS, the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, among others.
As a business entrepreneur, he has led international media tech start-ups, including SoHo New Media and Noema Pictures in NYC and the Screen Development Fund in London. He cofounded and directed UBC Studios on the Vancouver campus.
Bruce has always had a passion for teaching. He articulated and teaches six undergraduate courses at Corpus Christi College on the UBC campus. He has taught graduate courses at St. Mark’s and Regent College. Previously, he overhauled and ran the Vancouver Film School Directing Program for four years.
Bruce continues to consult to not-for-profits, cultural and academic institutions. He draws on his extensive professional experience as a creative director, award-winning content creator and teacher to translate, shape and deliver strategic communications that consistently engage and motivate his clients' target audiences.
